I have been so fortunate to have known Richard for a number of years. I first met him when we worked together with the local Residents' Association. Then in 2012 he was the mastermind of the fantastically successful Diamond Jubilee Party. There are a couple of lovely photographs of Richard in the Gallery, including a collage which demonstrates what a huge event it was.
My abiding memory of Richard is that he was always such a happy and good man. He was so generous with his time, giving wise advice and wonderful support, always in a genial and amusing manner. It was such fun to work with him.
I know Richard volunteered for a number of organisations, close to his heart was the cricket club. He was so proud of their progress and I am sure he was a superb mentor to the boys.
Additionally he was working on his thesis 'The English Suburb' for which he was awarded a BA. I am so lucky to have a digital copy of that as a reminder of what an amazing person he was. He radiated energy and goodwill.
